Default Premium Mobile Phone Number

Does anyone know how to go about selling a mobile phone number here in
Australia? The number has five 8's in a row which is considered very
luck in some cultures.

I suppose then, the poster can advertise that they are willing to
transfer (and maybe port)the number they have into your name.
Someone accepts the offer and possibly expresses gratitude of the
transaction with a few hundred dollars to the previous user of the
mobile number?
Can it work that way for the poster conerned? Or do you have a better
idea?

Nope, youve got it in one.

No one owns a phone number, not even the carrier. The ACMA administers them
as a "national resource"
