Default Samsung A501 Battery Life When Using Bluetooth

Set my Samsung A501 up with a MIO navigator to use the MIO's hands free
feature. Works OK, nothing to write home about, though. However, what
surprised me was the phone's battery. It lasted all of an hour before it
died.

Just wondering if this is par for the course for phone batteries. The
battery itself (and the phone) is around 8mths old.

Doesn't sound right to me. My phone is the Samsung A701, and I regularly
use it in Bluetooth mode with my Garmin Nuvi on trips to town (1hr drive).
After driving I often stay in town for 1 or 2 days, and my phone work fine
while I am in town, though I am not using bluetooth once I am in town - I
have to recharge it when I return home, after another 1 hr connected to the
Nuvi whilst driving

Well, that's what happened. I switched on BT, paired it with the MIO. A
hour later, while stuck in the Monash Freeway Carpark the phone's battery
died.

My wife's Nokia 6233 lasts a bit longer. She had BT switched on
permanently and was wondering why the battery would last no longer than a
day. It was only when she spoke to the local Testra dealer when we were in
there looking at a Palm Treo that he asked about BT. We checked it and
sure enough it was turned on. Turned it off. Battery life has quadrupled.
Now can last a few days before having to be put on the charger.
