Telstra customers wanting to call friends and family in cyclone devastated
Burma will be able to phone for free.
The phone company is offering free calls for residential customers on their
fixed-line phones today until midnight on May 19.
Telstra manager community investment Maria Simpson said that the free calls
were a way to help Australians concerned about family and friends in Burma
following the devastating cyclone.
"While communication lines are now open to Burma, we encourage customers to
be patient during this time. Difficulties may still be experienced when
trying to connect to Burma," Ms Simpson said.
Calls to Burma will be automatically billed at zero.
