Default When did Vodafone become 3

It seems that 3 mobile customers now are able to use what was the
Vodafone network. I discovered this when doing a manual operator search
and found that Voda is now 3, at least it is here in Vic where I am.
Checked the websites of both companies and found nothing about it, I'm
presuming this is as a result of the "merger" between the two. Does this
mean that 3 users now roam onto the Vodafone network? I checked and
found that the Telstra GSM network is still available to be used. Does
anyone know what the story is as both companies aren't saying much.
I'm thinking that it will just provide more choice for customers of both?

Thanx Rod, I'd heard about it but the info given was admin only changes.
It seems now that their networks are coming together now.

They actually said that the customers would not see any real change in what they signed up for etc.

We'll see...

Yes it seems my SIM card I use for data here in Sydney suddenly
stopped working as of today. Put it in a variety of handsets and the
best I can get if I'm lucky is it logs onto Vodafone's GSM network.
Not sure how to proceed with this, I'd rather top myself than get on
the phone with Three 'support''

Looked at the front page to see if there were any urgent bulletins or
alerts to customers. Saw none, so took the usual approach of waiting
to see if it fixes itself. 24 hours later, it has.
