Hi Guys,
Well we have been at it again

We are just putting the finishing touches on a nice little directional antenna that we have estimated at 12dBi. At this stage we have not set a price but are hoping to keep it around the 50.00 mark. this will depend largeley on what process of weatherproofing we end up using and what form of mounting is employed.
The antennas are polarised and when compared against a 15dBi Grid the figures were very favorable.
Connector is an N-Female on the rear.
We have yet to confirm the VSWR just to be sure that it is within our expected tolerances.
As for performance. We have found an AP in manukau that is one of the old Radionet AP's, from Pigeon Mountain over the back of my house we managed to get a reasonable signal. We plotted the distance on a map and arrived at between 14km to 15km. then we swung the antenna down to my house situated about 1km away and connected to my local network.
the test performed was to ping my server. this was done my issuing ping -t -l 6000 192.168.1.1
the results were 25ms ping times and a 3% packet loss over 25 packets.
I will make further announcements when we have decided on the housing.
