PS does anybody know where to get 12v 1amp DC power packs, seem to be so expensive at jaycar and DSE.

Bits4 prices don't look too bad for some items, they need some serious work to their layout and product information pages though.

Have you tried Rexel for plug packs? I bought one from there a while back and I remember it was significantly cheaper than DSE or Jaycar though can't give an exact price.
