Question To the Administrator

Perhaps you will be able to explain how the wifi forum threads and the Newsgroups are supposed to interact?
I have noticed that quite a few threads are appearing on alt.internet.wireless and when someone from the newsgroup replies there is no addition to the original thread in the wifi forum, so how does the originator of the thread know there has been a response? If anyone from the wifi forum responds to the originator of the thread then their response does not show up on the newsgroup.
So how is it supposed to work?
e.g.

Is there any use in complaining about the "Commercial Ad's" as well?
e.g.

The newsgroup gateway that we use here is far from perfect. I know about the issue with alt.internet.wireless posts disappearing from the correct forum in here and appearing in another. I have tried to track it down, but so far haven't found the source of the problem.

I will need to rebuild/rewrite some of the gateway at some point to stop this from happening.

As for the commercial ads coming from this site, this is news to me. All posts from this forum to the newsgroups are meant to be moderated. I will look into this.

Thanks for bringing these to my attention.

I have just posted a "How to" and for some reason it has appeared on alt.internet.wireless, any ideas why?

Another weird one for alt.internet.wireless.

I decided to do a google search on alt.internet.wireless
alt.internet.wireless | Google Groups
I have then looked at a lot of these and compared them with non-newsgroup postings on wirelessforums.org. It appears that for the last few months the vast majority of new posts appear on alt.internet.wireless and judging by the lack of response from the majority of OP's they are not aware of posting there or that there has been a response to their query.

Even your post on the "History of Verizon" ended up on alt.internet.wireless.

The Ad's haven't decreased in number since my original post either.
