Default Best certs for E-mail

Which is the best CA for postfix, exim, qpopper and dovecot
that M$OE, Thunderbird , Apple Mail et al

will recognise ?

Same as the web server certs. Same cert. There isn't an option bit in them
for it being web server vs. mail server.

I doubt Godaddy works for e-mail.

Why not? Even the free certs from StartSSL work for email servers?
(yes, my mailserver for my other personal email address has that setup
working). Anybody that has their root cert in the OS repositories
CA approved list works for an email service same as for web servers.
