NESSUS:error while loading shared libraries: libnasl.so.2

After installing nessus-libraries, libnasl, nessus-core,
nessus-plugins, i run the 'nessus-mkcert' command, upon which i get the
following error:

/usr/local/sbin/nessusd: error while loading shared libraries:
libnasl.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Executing nessusd failed. Make sure your library loader is configured
properly
and that nessusd is in your $PATH
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Upon checking $PATH for /usr/local/bin and /usr/local/sbin , I find
that both exist.

Please help
