I've just installed XP and need to surf the web. Do I need to install
anything?

I started one thread in both comp.security.misc and
alt.computer.security at (approximately) the same time.

Which as Leythos suggests is a breach of netiquette. you should've
instead cross-posted to both groups so replies from one would hit
both. I'm not sure if this is an artifact from your having posted
from google groups, though.

You cannot cross-post from Google Groups - and I don't use newsreaders.

It's also why a lot of long time usenet folk wholesale block postings
from google groups.

If you thumb your nose at convention, don't be surprised at some
flame-age.
