Default Stuxnet: What really happened

by n3td3v February 14, 2011 2:05 PM PST

The Stuxnet worm was used to blow up the Deep sea horizon oil rig in response to BP lobbying the release of the Lockerbie bomber.

It was carried out by a bunch of folks in Scotland, and were given jobs in GCHQ afterwards, because they (UK Government) were so impressed with it.

The folks employed in the aftermath of Stuxnet, formed a new group within the agency and were given funding to develop more weapons for the government for future deployment against adversaries.

Why would our government sabotage BP in general and oil rig in our waters in particular?

by n3td3v February 14, 2011 9:35 PM PST

It wasn't a government it was private citizens upset with the bomber release in Scotland, UK.

They were caught afterwards by the UK Government and offered immunity and jobs because of their skill set.

Do read what I said originally, at no point does it say a government was behind Stuxnet.

What you can say though is the UK Government are now shielding those responsible in a bargin offer.

UK Government said, you work for us at GCHQ and we'll say nothing to anyone about your involvement in Stuxnet.

You don't work for us, we hand you over to Scotland Yard and the media, its your choice.

Where are your facts and analysis to back up this assertion?

I prefer Symantec's paper, w32_stuxnet_dossier.pdf, available here:

They say it was a targeted attack on five different organizations and
all have a presence in Iran.
