Hi all,

I have an issue, only at one specific house, where I can only connect to wifi for about a half hour at a time before the connection dies and I can't get to any sites.

When I reboot, it gives me an "End Program Now" option on a couple different processes that I didn't even know were running:

Netsession Hidden Window
Connections Tray

Also, when I start up my computer, it opens the system32 folder; again, I have no idea why and did not specify this.

This same issue arose earlier on this forum with no solution. I hope somebody can crack the mystery of the NetSession Hidden Window/wifi relationship...

Thanks in advance.

What a bummer. I was probably going to get rid of the unlimited plan
anyway and move to the family share data plans when they become
available. I don't really use that much data for myself anyway, so
the unlimited was kind of a waste. The data share plans will be a
better option for me when they become available.

My dad still hasn't got onto the internet. He comes to our house to use it and is getting there. But still no connection of his own.

He lives quite close, approximately 200 meters - There is a line of sight from my roof to his - Possibly slightly obscured by the tip of some trees (I think its ok though).

My question to you is this:

If I were to create a parabolic antenna using a satellite dish (560mm x 460mm) and connect it to a bridge/repeater at my home. Then create a second identical antenna for use at my fathers connected to a bridge/repeater. Then somehow align them up - Would it work well?

Any advice on this also, I am experienced fitting satellite dishes for digital TV but this is the first project of this type I will undertake.

Wireless Router 1 (Sagem) - DHCP and internet configured 192.168.0.1
The problem I have is that devices connected to Router 1 wirelessly cannot see devices connected Router 2, but devices physically connected to Router 1 can see all devices connected to Router 2.
Can anyone shed some light?

> From ENG
>
>
>
> Dear colleagues,
>
> Since the beginning of the year, T-Mobile has stressed that
2012 is a rebuilding year for the company. A vital step in that
process was announced in March with the consolidation of our call
centers. This week, T-Mobile is taking the second essential step. We
are announcing a new structure that further aligns our costs with our
revenue realities, enables teams who support our field organization to
act and react with greater speed and effectiveness to customer and
market opportunities, and better positions us to return to growth.
>
> The new organization required difficult decisions that will
impact some of our employees. This week, news will be shared
personally with employees and teams who are directly affected by the
restructuring. Changes will include some position eliminations and
changes to individual roles and responsibilities. It is important to
emphasize these impacts to employees result from business decisions.
We have tremendous employees here at T-Mobile and we truly wish we
could retain all our talent, but our business realities require hard
choices. For affected team members, we are providing generous
transition support including severance, assistance with COBRA
continuation coverage, and outplacement services. As mentioned in the
March announcement, customer service representatives in the remaining
17 call centers, technicians in engineering, and frontline employees
in our T-Mobile corporate-owned stores will not be affected.
>
> Our rebuilt structure enables T-Mobile to realize significant
savings, allowing us to invest in future growth - in particular
modernizing our network to LTE, repositioning the T-Mobile brand, and
aggressively pursuing the B2B segment where we plan to add 1,000
positions over the next few years. We gain the agility to put
resources where the current opportunities are, grow in areas where
potential is greatest, and act on emerging opportunities quickly and
rationally.
>
> The restructuring provides a sustainable organizational model,
centered on our T-Mobile Values, with the following attributes:
>
> A greater focus on driving Customer Delight by reducing the
layers between working teams and executive leadership, and shifting
and consolidating groups in the field sales regions and the FSC to
minimize redundant work - resulting in more effective coordination and
communication.
>
> A renewed emphasis on Best Place to Perform and Grow:
> Enhanced people manager spans of control (number of direct
reports), enabling faster decisions, more ability to execute, and more
empowerment of employees at all levels.
> Evolution of our leadership model from player-coach, where more
time is spent on daily tasks than on planning and guiding, to
leader-coach, where time is focused more strategically on coaching,
developing, delegating, and motivating.
>
> We approached the restructuring process and decisions with
care, rigor and cross-functional alignment. A team comprised of top
leaders, with support from industry-leading subject matter experts,
worked closely together over the past few months to develop an
effective and sustainable structure. We strongly believe the
organizational principles we applied are lasting ones. More details on
the new organizational structure will be shared in department and team
communications this week and more broadly after that.
>
> I want to assure you we will move through the communications
this week very thoughtfully, but also as quickly as we can while
preserving the quality of the conversations that need to happen. As
always, our T-Mobile Values will guide our actions.
>
> Thank you for your patience as we work through what will be a
difficult week. Thank you for your continued commitment.
>
> With sincere appreciation,
>
> Philipp Humm
> CEO & President
> T-Mobile USA
> that has very weak coverage, by any mobile network. So it is impossible to
> carry on a fluent text chat with anyone.
>
> So I am wondering, is there a way I can send and receive the texts to my
> phone, by, say, connecting wirelessly to my broadband modem?
>
> Alternatively, is there a way I can set up a computer program so that my
> texts are received, via the 'net, on my PC?
>
> I know that some mobile service providers let you send texts, via the web,
> to mobile phones. So perhaps the reverse can also be set up somehow?
>
> This might work for me provided the program provides a ringer alert whenver
> a text is received.
>
> Many thanks...

My carrier is AT&T and I would like to get a new phone, but without
smart phone services. (too expensive)

I have a Go-Phone contract. Might that make a difference?

There are lots of phones for sale on Ebay.

Should the new phonet be GSM? Must it be?

Should it be Quad-Band?

Locked or unlocked? If I'm only going to make phone calls, no
Internet**, no texting, no games, no apps, unlocked is fine? **Well
maybe in some sort of emergency that I can't imagine, I'd want the
net, but given that aiui without a data plan it's so expensive, I'd
probably never want it.

Most of all, I want it to have FM Radio.
There are two FM stations 40 or 50 miles from here, WAMU and C-Span
radiio, that I would like to receive. The car radio and 2 or 3 of
my table radios at home will get those stations but most won't. Are
all the cellphone FM tuners the same, or can you recommend a brand, or
a model that is better than average? I listen almost entirely to
talk radio, not music so broad frequency response is not important.

A friend says she's read that Samsung makes the best phones. True??
True regarding the radio?

FWIW, my previous phone was Samsung-SGH-A777 and it had GSM 850, 1900,
WCDMA 850, 1900. A guy at AT&T told me that I was using the GSM part
of that, buit I'm not sure.

I've lost that phone (which didn't have rado) so I'm back to using
the original basic phone I started with.. No speakerphone, no radio,
no bluetooth, no camera, That phone was a Motorola C139, which is
in the US is GSM 850 / 1900

Thanks a lot for any help you can give.

Only bad thing is the wifi connection between the drone and the iPhone is 50 meters max range. Now i thought about buying a router/ap to get a greater range for the drone.

This are the questions i have:

1) the goal would be to get a range 600 meters+ is that possible? (the more the better)

2) If yes, what hardware do i need?
If no, what is the max range i can think of?

3) What would you suggest would be the best combination router/antennas for me?

4) would it be possible in south america with a stronger dBm router? (what hardware?)

5) is it better to use a router with just 1 antenna, or chose a rooter with 2 or 3 antennas?

Thanks very much for your help!!!

>
> And as I have complained to them so many times in the past - Three
> FAILED to send me any warning text messages. And even checking the
> remaining allowance(s) is useless because the figures are never

Yes, I've had exactly this. You can mitigate it slightly by only buying £5
topups, but you're still risking the £5. And clearly they're able to
measure data accurately, otherwise they wouldn't know when to cut you off.

Sadly I don't know of another network that offers PAYG data for a similar
price. The granularity seems to be 'per day' offers of 20ishMB for 20p-50p
or 'mobile broadband' of multi-gigabytes for a month for a tenner.
