question on 3G devices as it relates to the Amazon Kindle
and the new & upcoming Barnes & Noble Nook

Is it possible that these devices, and their internal cellular modems
will only work with a 3G signal and will not fallback to the Edge network ?

Sort of like locking the device to the top end protocol or nothing at all..
