Default iPhone wifi to secured network

Greetings!

Anyone know any tricks for getting an iPhone 3GS to communicate to a Trendnet TEW 631BRP wireless router set up as a secure network? When I try, I can see the network, I enter the password and nothing happens. I know the iPhone works as I can connect to non secured wifi networks.

(Disclaimer: I posted a similar question to the Network Troubleshooting group.)

Thanks,

BillJ
