Nextel sim card work with Blackberry

I have a motorola i502 phone with nextel service. I have a spare older model Blackberry phone. Is there any way to get the Blackberry to work with my service for the i502? I realize that it will not get all the Blackberry service features, but can you use the Blackberry phone for the phone and push to talk features?

I tried just putting the sim card in the Blackberry, but it does not recognize the card. Any advise would be appreciated

Yes it does, just took a call to Nextel to activate it
