Question 200m LOS, minimum hardware?

What would anyone recommend as minimum hardware for a point-to-point WLAN over 200m, with direct LOS, though a couple of power poles in between (60% of fresnel zone still clear).

Am considering TP-Link TL-WR642G router/AP which claims enough range, + yagi panel at other end. (what dBi?)

Would a WLAN router really have the range I need, or should I play it safe and get a flat panel at each end? Will need the router anyway for LAN within one of the points.

Cost IS an issue, so would rather go just over the minimum requirements and not spend many hundreds (router = NZ$95, yagi/panel/backfire = NZ$80-$120, 14-16dBi)

If anyone can recommend, many thanks!

I'm sending this over a .14 mile link, 224 meters.

At this moment I have a 16 db yagi 25 feet up ( 7.58 meters ) - with 50 feet of LMR 400 to a Linksys WRT54G running as a bridge on DD-WRT software. The radio puts out 28 mW = 15 dBm ( no, I'm not converting that to metric Watts )

Performance is marginal, about -80 dBm received signal strength.

Other end is a standard Linksys router with a standard little black stick sitting in the window of a computer store. There are two other open hotspots in the same area.

When I have a few free minutes I will retrieve my 24 dB dish from storage. That should get me -72 at the router. Mounting the router on the mast and eliminating the LMR 400 should gain me another 3 db, and I will hit the other end with 12 more db. Should make a solid link.

Thanks Mark.
I'm going to try with the minimum I listed for a start, and can always upgrade one end from the 642.
I wonder if there's a discussion here about the relative merits of outdoor directionals i.e. Yagi vs. flat panel vs. Backfire . . .

On satellite end, I'll have a simple Dlink switch (or similar) from sat modem to PC and antenna, other end is the 642 in a window feeding PCs in that house.
Wish me luck!!
