I've got a wireless comunity with about 16 PCs connected.
I use Dlink hardware DWL-2000AP+ and DWL-2100AP.
It works fine, but I have a problem I can't get what's wrong...
I've got 2x 2100AP in AP mode, and 3 PCs connected to a switch Dlink DES-1005D and everything works fine. Any of the 3 PCs can connect to both parts of the network ( The switch connects 2 "independent" networks ).
But I have a problem in a client house. He has 1x DWL-2100AP in client mode and 2x PCs connected to a switch (similar to my system) but, only ONE of the PCs can connect to the AP and the rest of the wireless network. Sometimes is PC1, sometimes is PC2. The PC that doesn't connect, doesn't even ping the AP. (The wired network between the 2 PCs works fine all the time)
Anyone has an idea? I don't have firewalls, got good IPs, etc.
not sure if you still require this but it may be helpful to someone else...
How to enable multiple clients behind a DWL-2100AP in client mode.
1. Telnet to the DWL2100AP
2. type 'set matstate 1' and press enter
3. type 'get matstate' it should return:
MAT: HomeAddress(AP's MAC), MultiEthClient(Yes)!
4. type 'reboot' and press enter
I have found after doing this the clients no longer have network access until the main AP and possibly any other gateways on the network are restarted in order to clear the ARP cache and routing tables.
To disable multiclient mode use 'set matstate 0'
