I recently traded my crappy mandolin for a laptop and need greater wireless range on the laptop or it's useless to me, except to sell. I started taking it apart at work but didn't have a ph00 to pull the last three screws out (Toshiba couldn't just use all ph0, right?) so I haven't seen more than the internal wireless antenna running under the PCB and disappearing near the battery.
My questions are as follows:
1) What's the easiest way to extend range on an internal antenna?
2) How hard would it be to rig an external antenna port? (Or even just extend the internal antenna through a hole in the case, I don't care)
3) Is it worth the effort?
Sorry if I don't have all the information you need, I'm new to most hardware modding (Outside of cutting and welding) as my soldering skills leave something to be desired. This time, however, I don't care!
