Question Which ADSL2+ wireless Modem router?

hi everybody
I am using planet 4401A adsl2+ modem router, and because of the poor antenna around the house I decided to change it.
I heard of MIMO and want a router with wireless n, so what is your idea about these two models?

belkin n1 vision
linksys Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway (WAG160N)

if none of these, what do you recommend?
I want very good signal around the 3 floors of my house, and in the rooms.

i also heard about netgear, but i like the design of these two, specially n1 vision.

thanks for your help

Personally - I use Netgears' 834M - and I like it - it does what it says on the box, and does it rather well.

Is it any better or worse than those you have named?

Nope - its neither better nor worse. Put it like this: you can find 1000 folk who will vote yes for each, and another 1000 folk who will vote no for each one - all depending on past experiance with the brandname. But other than for different chipsets, so-called "optional extras", the number of ports each may have and user/setup interfaces, they all do much the same thing, with little to no real world performance differeances between them.

I'd say they would all do the job - go for the brandname you are most comfortable with.

Exclamation

tnx for your care man, but this is the reason that made me to ask these questions!
1000 pos and 1000 negs!
Becaz of my first bad exprience of planet, that the isp made me have it, i really care now to choose the best!
In my country now we cant have access to internet via adsl with more than 1024kbps, and im 288!
Imagine...!

And i cant find any of those here, but i can buy them from uk.
I find this review abt the routers and not the modem routers, and i see there that n1 vision havent any features like port forwarding!

http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/belk...2537863-4.html

Im confused!
So now?

The important things for me are:
Mimo tec. And enough signal strength around 3 floors and abt 500m2 area
Wireless N
Full specs that didn bother me for future

And again...
Belkin, linksys, netgears one's...?

Well, you have added a very important piece of information: the problem I see that is going to mess things up for you wirelessly, is that none of the examples named (including the Netgear) will cover 500sm over 3floors.

All wireless routers/modems have limited power outputs depending on the country you live in - the most been around 50milliwatts max - and over 3 floors with the frequency at 2.4Ghz - nope, it just is not going to work.

You may get a signal on floors 1 and 3 if the router/modem is on floor 2 (i.e. in the middle), but if the construction is concreate or brick with steel re-inforcing in it (as most multi-story buildings have steel in the construction, and thick walls), it is not going to work.

This is defineatly a wired application - unless you want to have a main modem/router, with at least 2 ethernet ports, which then feeds to another modem router on each floor, and then connect to them on each floor wirelessly. But a single wireless modem I do not belive is going to be the solution.

Your only wireless solution is to get hold of a 700Mhz or 900Mhz modem/router - this will cover the 3 floors (e.g. Ubiquiti in the USA make 700Mhz and 900Mhz products).

So - the problem here is not brandname - its simple physics.

PS - nothing wrong with Belkin (in my opinion) - but same problem as above i.e. wireless over 3 floors from a single modem router is not going to work on 2.4Ghz (and will be even worse on 5Ghz).

i don't know whether I explain the situation correct or not!
But this is in details:
we have a steel structure with 3 floors, a floor under ground and 2 floors above.
the under ground floor is parking + a room, and doesn't need wireless connection.
but the 2floors above!
each floor has an area about 220~240sm (m^2), and i need wireless in all corners of them.
each floor above the ground has different elevations (duplex)
about 120sm in one elevation and about 120sm with different elevation (higher height from the other one I mean).
all the walls are brick made, and has thickness about 20~25cm.
the ceiling also is concrete made and the thickness is about 30~40cm.

now the router is at the corner of the building in the grand floor (sometimes i didn't have signals even in the room exactly above the router!)

so, in this case!
with these Wireless N and Mimo technologies, I couldn't have wireless in all spaces?!
so if that's correct i should use repeaters for each floor, or two routers as you said!
But, I think this is not too much space...!

If the answer is no!
again, which adsl2+ wireless router you recommend?

before reading your post my choice was the Belkin N1 Vision...
hmm...?!

sorry about this much writings to explain the situation, that's because of my poor English and my architectural studies!
