Default Belkin wireless router/modem dropping connection

Got a Belkin wireless router/modem F5D7632UK4A ver. 7000uk got the latest firmware according to firmware update.

Modem is wired via ethernet to Mac Mini.
*modem keeps dropping ADSL connection*.
Im pretty sure i've entered in my WAN setting properly since the very first time it connected ok and even worked wirelessly with my Macbook.

Ive tried a restart/reset and factory reset and went through the WAN set up about 4 times and nothing seems to work.

It seem to connect if i turn on and off but this takes a few attempts and then loses the wired and wireless after about 20 minutes.

Contacted Belkin and they advised factory reset and changing idle time to zero.

Does anybody have any thoughts?
Should I just get a different router?

Are you sure it is a ver7? The Belkin site only seem to go as far as ver6.
Belkin : Support : F5D7632 - Firmware Download

Note that the ver3 and ver6 variants have had firmware upgrades because of connection problems.

yes there a white label on the bottom of the box that has ver. 7000uk on it.

I checked the firmware by logging into the router and clicking firmware update button. so the firmware is up to date.

contacted belkin again and they had nothing else to offer and are offering to replace the router.

I just thought it may have been something small or some setting that needed changing.
