Default Broadcasting DSL over a home wifi. Feasible?

Preface and Current Hardware:
My wireless cable internet is horrible. I now wish to use DSL. I have computer all over the house and am using a WRT54G router.

Question:
Is it possible to broadcast the DSL internet from the router? If so, how do I do that?
Do I plug the DSL modem into the router (and how does it connect at that point)
Do I plug the DSL modem into a desktop (via usb?), and then send the rj-45 into the router.

OR, am I dreaming and require new hardware to make this happen (if it is even possible)

I have googled high and low and can't figure out how to do this.
Thank you VERY much for whatever help is provided.

George

Your DSL modem should simply replace your cable modem as it is connected now. The WRT54G usually comes with a CD that guides you through the software setup.

You don't say what part of your cable internet service is horrible. If it's the price, speed or excessive downtime, then the change is understandable.

If the problem is the wireless connection, then it's your wireless router, and has nothing to do with the cable service. The WRT54G is not a bad router, but either the antennas need some improvement to get through your walls, there could be wireless phone interference, or you need to move the router to a better location.

Here's the web how-to on everything but antenna improvements:
