Exclamation Calling all wireless experts! Question???

I have a question for those in the wireless site survey or wireless buisness in general. I have an 8 building network of both wired and wireless. They are essentially older buildings of thick concrete and such. The hardwired connections are fine of course but the wireless signal is having some trouble. They are basically resident halls for students living on campus at the university. Many rooms with long hallways to give a better picture. Currently I am using omni directional antennas from hyperlinktech 800 MHz -3 GHz 3.5 dBi Ceiling Mount in the ceiling along the center of the hallway. The access points are intelligent hp 420 set to antenna mode single. When I first received the position to manage the equipment, I was told there was no site survey done. So now it has been a couple years and I would like to solve this issue by getting feedback from other people who have been through similar situations. If you need anymore info I will be glad to share it. Thanks all!

I would look at the airmagnet / fluke survey pro software.

AirMagnet Survey Pro a4015

you put the floor plan into the software and then the laptop takes actual reading of signal / noise / throughput as you walk around.

once you get the plan setup you can just rewalk ti every few months and generate reports.
