now i was all set to go on this when i noticed a small note on the site i bought it from on 1 page it says
1/MUST BE USED AS MAIN OUTDOOR ANTENNA (HOTSPOT, AP,...)
and on another it says
2/COULD BE USED AS MAIN ANTENNA(HOTSPOT, AP,...)
so my question is this can i connect that antenna to my pci card and transmite and receive internet connection simple lol
im using this antenna because i am lucky enough to live in an area with quite alot of free internet connections so want to reach as many as i can lol just incase i goes down i got back up so to say |
It should work fine with your pci adapter. Keep in mind that most of your signal gained, will be lost if your cable run is very far. So the shorter the cable(s) the better.
A better solution (if this fails) is an outdoor access point. That way you just run ethernet cable to it, and the card and antenna are together in the enclosure.
If you're mounting this permanently outside, keep in mind you've just attached a lightening rod to your pc.
