Default Equipment I will need for a long range wireless surveillance system?

I want to set up a wireless IP surveillance system around my property. I plan to use wireless cameras. The farthest one will be about 350 feet from my router.

I have been looking around at wireless wifi security cameras to use with my home wifi network and all of them ( like the Foscam FI8918W) use IEEE 802.11g standards. I have done a lot of research on this and there is just no consistent data about to do this.

Here is my situation. I need a omni-directional wifi G network with a minimum range of 350 feet. I have several buildings to cover so it has to be omni-directional. My house is located 350 feet from the furthest building. I already have an old Linksys WRT54GS router with Firmware Version: v1.52.8. It is located in my bedroom against an outside wall and even now I get some signal from it out at my farthest building (350 feet) and can even browse the web with my laptop. But the signal is spotty and seems to come and go for no reason.

Any help with choose the right equipment for my project would be very much appreciated.

My advice: forget wireless IP cameras. Use 900 mHz FM:

more power, more range for the same power, unlikely to give or receive interference from other systems.

Q: Why does my 2.4GHz camera/receiver kit give me such a bad picture or no recognizable picture? Is this a defective product?

A: No, absolutely not a defective product, each kit has been fully tested before it is shipped to you. We often receive this question, here is the reason. 2.4GHz frequency band is a pretty busy band, there are a lot of products use this same frequency band. If you have any other electric appliance that uses the 2.4GHz frequency band, those appliances will cause interference to your 2.4GHz wireless camera/receiver kit and the signal between the camera and receiver will be disrupted. Common consumer electric appliances also use the 2.4GHz frequency band are cordless phones, wireless computer network, etc. If you have those appliances in your house or in the houses/buildings around you, these appliances must be turned off for your wireless camera/receiver kit to work. Usually in order to make sure your kit has nothing wrong, we suggest you to bring the kit to and use it in a different place where it is sure there is no wireless electric appliance around.
