Default Flat Panel Antenna

I am trying to get internet access in a hotel room where the WIFI is in the lobby area. Looking at flat panel antennas that are on ebay for £15 or so, will it work.

I do not want to pay £50 or more as it is only occasional use

Would any of you highly knowledgeable people help me out please

you really only need a high power USB adapter the range is 10x that of your laptops builtin WiFi and it comes with a large 5dBi antenna

you could upgrade antenna to a 14dBi panel but it is really not needed

if you get a flat panel antenna you will need to find a way to support it. maybe a small camera tripod.

use an omni. ignore anyone who claims more than 15 dbi gain from an omni.

using a more powerful adapter with a weenie antenna is ridiculous. It's a two way radio. you need beter transmit and receive. that comes from better antennas
