Help me increase my wifi signal.

I have a two story house and my wireless "N" router is on the second story in a room. I have no problem with a signal on the second floor but when I go to the first floor or when I go outside to the backyard the wireless signal degrades a lot.

Is there any kind of signal booster or something that I can put on the first floor to pick-up the signal from the second floor and then redistribute it through the first floor?

You can take some aluminum foil and make a makeshift satalite dish near the reciever, touching the laptop, and point it towards the source....you will have an increase of between 10-25%

hahaha, aluminum foil? i guess if your into that sort of thing.

I have a few range extenders that i use:
Hawking 300N range extender
Netgear powerline adapters

but depending on your router, you maybe able to just add a hi-gain antenna to extend the signal.

You should have a look at the Ruckus Wireless 2211. It is only 802.11b/g but will easily and VERY reliably repeat your wireless signal.
