Question Help me for new Wifi network implementation

Hi,
My name is Gireesha from Sharjah, UAE.
I would like have Wireless network for File and printer sharing and rarely internet sharing.
We have an office location in Sharjah. Here we have 2 buildings, one is Office and another is factory.
In Office we have 1 Server + 10 Desktop + 1 Laptop machines and in Factory, have 3 Desktop and 1 CNC Machine.

The office is covered with glass and we have kept some (metal) raw material in the same building. Factory is about 350feet from office gate (from where we have server) and we have machinery and Finished Products (Metal) in the factory. And the whole factory building has 4 gates and looks like a covered shed. I need to have a device whose wifi range which covers up to 1500 feet.

(Why I am explaining this is because, metal can avoid Wireless Signals; I think so.)

I would like to have Wireless network with these computers in both office and factory (Should fall in same network). These all the computer use a ERP Package, which is stored in a Server, means all the machines should access Server and other Machines.

Can anybody inform me the best suitable wireless network devices (router, Access points, repeaters, bridge, antenatal, range expander) for my setup?

Thanks & regards

There is quite a lot to cover in exact detail so the best I can do is help with some useful guidelines.

I think your best bet will be to spread several access points through the factory to get good coverage over the whole area. Configure them with proper channel spacing (1-6-11 rule) and the same SSID and security settings to allow roaming.

I'd also recommend setting up a pair of access points in a dedicated bridge between the two buildings with small directional antennas to get connectivity to the server using a different SSID, etc to that of the factory network.

Almost any AP should do though it might pay to stick to brand-name equipment for performance reasons, and I'd recommend using industrial-grade access points that feature enclosures designed to withstand harsh environments. D-Link and Linksys both produce good units that would fit into this category.

The last point to make is that if you have a server, consider setting up 802.1x security on the factory access points. This can be a little complex to set up as it involves knowledge on setting up a RADIUS server and issuing certificates but does provide very robust security and is worth doing some research on.

Hi one of our forum friend suggested this, please go through this link:

http://www.wirelessforums.org/wirele...tion-9928.html

I need your suggestion on particular products should I purchase.

Bcos, I was come up with Linksys WRT300N Router and WMP300N PCI Adpter on 20-oct -06 from Dubai. I was installed those devices and unable to get the signal in factory building. I was having good signals only in office location (where I was kept WRT300N router). (I am unhappy with WRT300N)

I am new to this wifi installation, so I need your valuable suggesion.

I was obseverved some products in Welcome to AvaLAN Online! - please check this site and suggest me.

Thanks & regards
