Help Please

Hey been told this is the best site for help like so...(btw im a real amuter...so dont laff lol)

welll.. im gettin me mates laptop coz he cba wid an an he sed tha its not wireless so to get a usb adapter with the wireless router But i also need the router to get me ps3 online... dno if it makes a different but the internet cable is downstairs an my ps3 an soon 2 be laptop is upstairs in the loft...so i need help in wa wireless router package to get...or an other ideas...

Is your internet connection downstairs connected to your ps3 directly via ethernet? If so, you just need to set up a wireless network. Buy a combo WAP/Router, there are lots of inexpensive ones out there (I have an older linksys wrt54gs that works fine) and a usb wireless for your laptop. You may have to connect directly via ethernet cable to your laptop to initially set up the router for the connection and security. Then you can plug th4e ps3 directly into the router and share the laptop wirelessly upstairs.
