Default Hooking up two routers

I am looking for step by step instructions on how to hook two wireless routers together with one being security encrypted and one being open to the public. Currently, I have a PC connected to a LYNKSYS Wireless G WRT54G and a comcast cable modem. I purchased a Netgear WGR614 wireless router and want to connect it to the current router. In the end, I want to have my PC and my home wireless computers (4) protected and and secured, and one router set up for guests to access with their lap tops without them being able to access my PC or home wireless computers. I am not a techie so I will need step by step if anyone has the patience Thanks in advance.

Depends on how many outputs that comcast modem has.

Assuming 1 ethernet out of the comcast modem, and more than 1 ethernet out of the Netgear:

comcast > netgear WAN in > netgear LAN out > Linksys WAN in.

Netgear is open, Linksys encrypted. Linksys and Netgear on different channels.

Linksys and Netgear have different nets: one is 192.168.1.X, other is 192.168.2.X

step by step would require a Netgear and a Linksys like yours right in front of me.

Thanks Mark.

The comcast (motorola) modem has one ethernet plug out, the netgear has one internet in and 4 Lan ports out, as does the LYNKSYS. I am currently running the LYNKSYS. Do you recommend installing the Netgear first, and then bridging the LYNKSYS from the netgear and use the LYNKSYS as the secured wireless router? Thanks.

if the house is small enough I would run CAT5 from the modem to the Netgear, from the Netgear to the Linksys. I would not use a wireless bridge if I had no need to.

Does the two different addresses for the two routers mean that you must manually set up each router instead of the automatic process?
