My bedroom is at the top of the house, and the router is downstairs. The signal from my wifi when in my room is pretty bad, often cutting out. It is a Netgear '108mbps super wireless ADSL modem router DG834GT'.
What are my options to getting a better signal? I've heard of a repeater or access points, but I am unsure of which to choose, or what brand or type would be compatible with my router. Can someone please advise?
Something worth trying is to point the aerials horizontally and in the same direction. The rod aerial radiates a doughnut of signal - so will push more signal vertically if it is on its side.
Our clients have had great success with the Ruckus WirelessMediaFlex 2211 repeater. We have successfully deployed these in many large homes to repeat the wifi. I hope this helps.
