laptop only connects on full bars!!!

ive got an ho dv6t laptop running windows 7pro, everything works fine except for the wireless. since i got it, it only connects to through wifi when it reads full bars of wireless signal which is when i'm sitting in front the router it self. i have two other laptops that connect just fine, plz help me out with this problem asap.
