Default Newbi thrown in the Deep end-help.

Hiya.
3 weeks ago my company decided they needed to get into Wireless, and they decided I was gonna be the guy to go and learn all about it.... 8O
So I currently have two installs going and some problems I'm hoping you guys can help me with.

The main one is down by the Airport, where a client wants us to connect two office sites about 2.5K apart.
Having spent many hours up and down ritiky ladders and along roof edges, we are finally in a position to get the sodding stuff going. :
We are using two AP's to bridge the gap, connecting with 2 large (1m'ish) parabolic aerials.
The AP's are 802.11B Edimax 7205APL's. The Aerials are connected by 7m of HQ cable.

To align the aerials (AP's work fine in office), it's been suggested to me that I connect one of the aerials directly to a PCIMCA LAN card on a laptop, run Netstumbler and use that to align the arial.
Does anyone know where I can the dongle that will connect the 2?
Also, the only laptop card I have at the moment is a re-branded Broadcom DSE card-oh-shit, which doesn't seem to be compatible with Netstumbler.
Any suggestions for cards or another good Windows locating program? (that doesn't cost over 1K...heh)

Someone said that Senao make good Wi-Fi gear. Opinions and where available in NZ?

For Site Surveys, I was pointed towards the Teletronics "Site Survey Kit"
http://www.odessaoffice.com/wireless/survey.htm
http://www.teletronics.com/
opinions?

Anyway, thanks to all that got to the end of this long, mad ramble, and any help will be greatly appreciated! :

Hi,

Yes Senao make really good gear, http://shop.borg.co.nz have the 200mw pcmcia cards and have a shipment of AP's due in shotly.

site test can be a little tricky especially if you are not familiar with some of the pitfalls. Im in the process of putting together a sitetest and alignment kit that will allow antennas to be aligned without as much stress. This will be avalible for rent shortly.

However in the meantime if you are in need of some assistance im sure I can arrange something in the meantime as I have some gear avalible that can be used for testing.

Regards
Andrew

Sweet, thanks

Cool, I'll try them for the next project.
Are they compatible with Netstumbler?
I couldn't tell from the readme: http://stumbler.net/readme/readme_0_3_30.html

Any recomendations for a good Nutstumbler-dedicated PCIMCA card? (for site serveys, etc)

Any gear would be most welcome.
We have the two AP's chatting merrily in Bridge mode, the main task left is to get them to talk at 2.5K, and for that I need to align them...
could you let me know about the hardware on dylan.robinson@radntech.com , thanks.

BTW: heya Major Havoc, we should natter about this stuff the next PZ.

The Orinoco/Dell truemobile cards work prety well with Netstumbler, they also have a really cool peice of software that allows you to log the connection over a 24hr time slot and see a graph.

The 200mw's work with Netstumbler if you are usnign XP or 2k

REgards
