Default newbie-what do i need?

i would like to use all of my computer components to wireless communicate with my entertainment media,ie; play mp3 file om computer through my stereo, use the computer dvd/cd-player/recorder to send video or music to and from my stereo and tv/sat.rec.(tivo r10), burn video from tivo to dvd or music from my stereo rec. to cd. is this possible? when explaining please use the simplest terms possible because i am not familiar with wireless jargon.
