Power a wireless router using an internal desktop power supply
Hello everyone and thank you for reading.
Background. I have been reading up on how to get the best connection closest to being wired using a wireless router as a bridge with the DD-Wrt software. (this is what I have read to be the best) This is for wireless gaming and attachments.
What I am wanting to do is have a wireless router inside my desktop I just built. I am wondering if it would be possible to power this router using my extra modular spots on my power supply so I wouldnt have to plug two devices in.
What I have also been searching for is an adapter that would be placed in an empty pci slot that would be a coupler for the 1-4 RJ45 LAN connections on the router, since this will be inside my case, to connect other peripherals externally to this network.
TL'DR: Wireless bridged connection, powered by PC power and LAN couplers using a PCI slot
