Question Setting Up PC As An Access point?

Ok the thing is i'm on a shared connection, live in a cul-de-sac we have a shared connection, now the PC picks up the signals fine, and so does my MacBook when im in the front room, or the front bedrooms upstairs, but when i go to my bedroom at the back of the house i loose the signal as im so far away from the access point, i installed network card, and ran a cable and bridged the connections but then my macbook was hard wired, is there a way to make my PC think its an Access point but still be connected to the network? so my mac can see my PC connect to it but that routs it through the PC to the wireless?

Have you tried connecting an AP to your ethernet card, the one you are using as a bridged connection. You should still use the bridge connection you have already set up. You will need to put the AP on a different channel to the one you are already using and also use a different SSID.

What do you not understand about putting the new AP on a different channel from the AP that your PC is presently connecting to?
If both AP's are on the same channel they will interfere with each other and you will possibly have no network at all, also try and keep the channel at least 4 channels away from the original AP.

Default Ap Non Overlaping channels

Yes even though you have 1-11 and in some countrys 1-14 there are only 3-4 non overlaping channels and only so much space in each spectrum,if you need a stronger or commercial ap try AID-2405sg
AID-2405sg---Zigwire

l IEEE 802.11g compliant

l 4 operating modes: AP, AP with bridge, wireless client, repeater

l Advanced network security with 64/128/152 bit WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK

l 5 levels of transmit power adjustment

l Indication of 'connection status'

l 5-dbi super rubber antenna

l 500mW/27dBm output

Ok stupid but how do i change the channel? My main one is on channel 11 the one thats conencted, now i pluged a Linkysys access point into the ethernet conenction and then i bridge connections i loose conenctivity, so i have had a look through the properties of Local Area Conenction 3 (my ethernet controller) and i cant seam to be able to change the chanel, it sais it has limited or no conectivity, so i did ipconfig to get the ip address and i can get onto the web admin of it or anything?
