1) get 2 Ubiquiti Bullets. specialized AP and client. designed to work as a team to create long links. less expensive than buying two lower powered routers and putting third party firmware on them.

Ubiquiti Bullet

do the math:

Support :: Calculations :: System Operating Margin :: Terabeam Wireless

math says: 2 15 db antennas will give you -42 dbm at the other end

Default having a tough time at it

Ok, so I concede that I am not as smart as I think I am sometimes.

I have tried to purchase the bullets but the ones I found on Ebay wich included antenna's, I was getting unreliable info back and am not willing to plunk down SEVERAL hundred dollars for something that may or may not work.

So back to the original question with some addendum's;

I have a cable modem at my residence and a wireless router which is were my business office is. Our retail store is 1000 feet away w/ line of site from roof to roof.
We cannot get cable at the store (ONE HORSE TOWN AND ALL) and the DSL would be way to expensive and besides I have BIG issues with the phone co that go WAY BACK!

I want to BEAM my wireless internet signal to the store while preserving my wifi at the house. And also have our point of sale system communicate with our PC at the house at the end of the day for our daily sales reports.

I need advice from AtoZ on how to accomplish this seemingly simple (IN MY MIND) task from someone with experience at doing this very thing!

If there is anyone in the albuquerque nm area that I could
hook up with and PAY to help us out...I would be forever thankful!

I would go with 2 600mW eoc-2610 units

Keenan Systems Wireless Store Featuring Engenius

set one up as a AP the other as a CB and you are all set.

They are more powerfull and stable then the NS2 for sure and even cost less.
