Default Where to buy antennas in NZ???????

Hey all, I'm after a 24dbi or so dish. Do you know where I can get one for a reasonable cost? Have made my antennas in the past but would like to get hold of a dish for testing distances.

Has anyone imported antennas from Fab-Corp in the USA?

All comments welcome

You missed the fab-corp bulk buy that was done on the mailing list recently.

I got a couple of the vagi antennas, they seem pretty sweet, authough the diecast aluminium they are made from looks very brittle so may not survive as a site test antenna.

the 24dBi isnt something you want to test distance with, its heavy. very heavy and far too directional to be waving around by hand.

http://www.users.bigpond.com/viperwebkiosk...sks/conifer.htm seems pretty cheap, fab-corp sting on the freight prices, this guy has good prices and is based in australia.

Conifer 24dBi antennas anyone??

I am about to place an order with this guy for 4 of them as it is the most cost effective way to import them.
The 4 are going to cost AUD$540 delivered - I only want 2 of them.

Therefore, I have 2 left going for AUD$135 each (I think about NZ$153) if anyone is keen.

I am not making money off these, they cost AUD$107 each and the postage is AUD$112 for the 4 of them.

First in first served - I'm planning to place the order about wednesday next week and it'll take 7-10 days to arrive.

Anyone interested?

I organized a group order from FAB corp in the USA. I used a 3rd party carrier to get the stuff here. (We ordered about $1500 NZD worth of gear all up)

The vagis were about $65 NZD + freight.
The 24Dbi parabolics were $112 NZD + freight.

Freight for one 24Dbi via fedex economy from FAB corp in the USA is $45 USD.

Is anyone interested in doing another FAB corp order?

Who are NZ suppliers of parts such as N type connectors and RG213 coax (at better than RS prices ) ?

HiTech Ariels in Christchurch can make antenna's to suite the job, most are grid antenna's for 24dB as the solid dishes are very heavy and bulky, plus mroe expensive.

I'd always buy one from these guys before attempting to buy any of the huge marked up retail bradn stuff like dlink etc... HiTech specialise in commercial quality antennas, I've used them in KiloWatt applications on the toughest of hill tops. Their 2.4GHz stuff is reasonbly priced compared with dlink and pc brand antenna rediculous prices.

If you want distance, have a nosey at www.dse.co.nz as their 2.4GHz boosters, up to 500mW. Only good with some AP's like the Dlink, as it doens't accept the higher powered AP's like netgear etc...

Cheers,
Gavin.
