WIFI slowing laptop

I have a user that indicated that in the last month that when he turns on his on-board wifi his laptop completly lags down. Is this a hardware problem, or something else.

These are very good notebooks. I have not had any problems like this with one yet, however I would suggest trying to uninstall the Intel and HP wireless management utilities if installed and reply on Windows XP to handle the wireless side of things. Sometimes if more than one program tries to control the wireless card at once you can end up with problems.

Also get him to install all the latest applicable drivers from HP's website.
