I work for a company that installs wireless networks in small offices/home offices. We are currently looking at switching our AP offerings to one or two decent SOHO-grade (read as less than $120 retail) wireless access points. They must connect reliably with PDAs.
We are currently looking at the following:
D-Link DWL-2100AP
Linksys WAP54G
Netgear WPN802 (too pricey)
Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 (combo-unit, which doesn't fit our support model)
Have we missed any other good offerings? There seems to be a lot of comparison pages from 2003 - 2005, but nothing really recent.
I've only really tried d-link and linksys gear, but none of the models out of your list. I've had more problems with d-link and the support has been worse, so I'd be leaning towards the linksys myself.
I think anything wifi will connect to PDA's as long as the PDA's have wifi enabled.
in using dlink i havent experiencing any problem yet works perfectly to me same as net gear using linksys is the worst! wap54g has many bugs in its firmware and actually in its main hardware chipsets
