wireless switch not working

So I think like thursday i was using my wireless fine....then when i went into to ubuntu to update to narwal or whatever my wireless started acting funny...like it wouldnt show the wireless networks at all....so after fiddling around...i finally found out that the hardware switch and the wireless card are not connected together....because when i turn the switch off the wireless stays on and disconnected...so my hardware switch only controls bluetooth at this point? im so confuse because ive never seen anything like it....ive unistalled the drivers....even did a rollback...system restore...all my computer tells me is that my wirless switch is off when its turned on...when i do ipconfig it says media disconnected....but i got it to work ealier randomly...for like ten minutes the switch was connected then it went back to being disconnected. sooooo confuseddd
