Default WRT54G Signal issues

Hi there and please be patient with the newbie.

I have a WRT54 G connected to my cable modem. My main desktop PC (PC #1) is a wired connection to the WRT. My laptops work fine wirelessly, and all is well, except for desktop PC #2. This PC is in a remote corner of the house with a wireless PCI card and I am trying to get a reliable signal to it. It works fine, unless I am online at the same time with PC#1 (wired), then PC#2 intermittently loses all connectivity about 50% of the time.

Ideas?

Hi
Here are a few things I'd check:
Does the cable modem give out DHCP IP addresses?
Is the WRT54 G giving out addresses on the lan too?
Which OS are you running?
Do you have portable phones in the house which share the 2.4ghz range?

If that computer reports a bad signal, try attaching a slightly larger antenna (e.g. 7dBi). These can be had fairly cheap from most electronics and computer stores.
