Default WRT54G, WRT54GS , WAP54G HELP

hi Guys.

wel im going crazy. im looking to set up my first wireless and adsl setup.

have been reading a researching alot, im thinking the wrt54gs is the best option, and im looking to buy one from the us ( 75US ).. would that cause me any issues ( power supply etc?)

if the get the wrt what mode should i buy, should i get a linksys modem or something else? should i just buy the wap54g ( of which ive heard lot of problems )..? im really lost.. i was originally going to buy the belkin adsl + router that i saw at harvey norman.. but im really not sure now. Ive been reading that there is a wrt54G v2 that has the 32meg ram, im really only using this for a home wireless network, and im looking at buying jetstream, but would have liked the ability to get something else like saturn etc if i wanted to and not need to buy another router. im just confused

Ive read really good reviews on the US RObotics 9106...

well i hope you can help, i cant find much info in decent stand alone adls modems, i was thinking of buying the same brand and getting a linksys one.. but not sure if this one is any good or would work with jetstream BEFCMU10

Hi There,

I'm using 2 wrt54GS APs myself, and I'm having heaps of fun with them running the openwrt firmware.

I don't quite know how this all relates into your jetstream though - to me that's a different issue.
These units to do have a wan port, which I assume is to be used for things like dsl routers and such or cable modems in the states.

Personally though I'd just plug my dsl router into the lan, and the linksys into the lan.

As far as APs go though, the linksys wrt54g has a great name, and the GS model is the one with the extra ram (and "afterburner technology")that you mentioned.

jetstream is a whole different issue, personally i'd go for a cheap and easy DWL-900ap+ or a DI-624/614 and a d-link adsl modem (think its DSL-302) then plug the chose accesspoint into the router(modem) or the router(AP) into the router(modem) andyour away, all the DI-624 has over the DWL-900ap+ is the ability to act as a firewall, and the fact it is designed as a specific router.

Telstra/TelstraClear do not allow you to supply your own modem (dont ask me why) so whatever you choose your gonna have to get a telstra/Clear modem aswell.

If ur in central auckland (north of mt wellington / south of bridge / east of avondale) im quite happy to get you all set up once you have the gear, (DI-624 + DSL-302) and your line is active, will quite happily do a set-up on other brands too.

This is because they have a retarded billing system that cant take into account whether or not you have a supplied or self provided connectivity device.

They may claim "oh it helps with <some bollocks network related thing that is only advantageous to them>" but really, they're so full of it it's not funny.

Can you tell that I dont buy into this nonsense attitude of Telstra being the saviour messiah company who are here to save us from Telecom?

Default AP900+

Has anyone tried the Power Hack on an AP900+? I have found a lot of info on the net, but people seem to have alot of different views. Would be good to hear from someone who has tried it, or know someone who has.
Any info would be great
Thanx
Travis
