Security vulnerability The ZX-5800 neither lets you change the SNMP public and private strings nor does it let you turn SNMP off. An snmpwalk of the private community string causes the radio to reboot every time. I spoke to tranzeo's engineers and they at first claimed the vulnerability didn't exist, but now they've admitted it. The Tranzeo ZX-5800 can be rebooted without any special authentication because the private community string is simply the word "private". If you are behind a firewalled internal network and block port 161 UDP, you can eliminate this problem but if not, you should not use this device. |
