Default Connecting to BorgWiFi

I'm probably going to purchase a 19db parabolic grid and a D-link 900+ Ap from shop.borg.co.nz. But before I do i need to know wether or not i will be able to connect I would prefer to connect to the main node but if I have to i will connect to a client. Shadowx is this alright with you as I know alot of people around my area wanting someone else to connect to.

But does anyone have any other ideas??

I am a newbie so try to not be too technichal.

Cheers,
Chris Wiggins

Chris,

The trick would be to give us a call and arrange a site survey first. We have some survey gear that can be used to do this and will save you from having to purchase gear first off.

If you can get a connection to the main node then i have no problems with you connecting to that however you would still need to follow the BorgWiFi tems and conditions.

If there is enough intrest in the area and depending on your location we could subsidise the installation of the equipment and set you up as a secondary node.

Currently we have over 20 Square KM of wifi coverage in the Bucklands Beach, Howick, Pakuranga, Dannemora, East Tamaki and some of Manukau Heights. There is also another 3 nodes about to be deployed.

Regards
Andrew

Default Cool!

Hi Andrew,

Would like to get a site survey done although I have a feeling it might not work as I'm in a kind of a ditch.

Would the gear I'm thinking of getting good enough or is there something else you recommend.

You might remember me with Stephen Cope getting a new end connector for his pigtail. send me an email at chriswiggins [at-sign] speedymail [dot] org for further details would prefere the survey to be done these holidays if possible.

Kind Regards
Chris Wiggins

wi-fi_guy,

I cant release figures for connectivity as this is this is sort of a company secret at this stage. but i can say that BorgWiFi coverage has not breached 50 square km and clients within that area get great connectivity.

We have not put the antenna up sky and our network is not reliant on a single point now. currenty we have 2 other feeds going in to the core system but will soon increase that to 3.

THe original sky feed was 16Mb not 60Mb as this is what the calculations taking in to account the losses and noise levels left us with.

Regards
Andrew
