Default Dimensions of Wired Country Antenna

Hello,

First time postere here. ops:
Can someone please tell me the size of the Antenna that will be installed with wired country wireless service?
I live in an apartment in Auckland City, and if I want to mount anything ouside the window, I will need permission from the body coporate :x , so right now, I'm just doing some research. 8) I'll be really appreciated if anyone can help me out with the followings. (I rang a couple of ISP already, and none of them can answer my questions):

1. How big is the Antenna? (hopefully not too big)
2. Can the Antenna be mounted indoor and pointed out the window?
3. Will the connection be straight ethermet? or PPPoE?

btw, I'm in Newton (very close to Ihug) and I have a clear LOS to sky tower.

All comments are welcomed.
cheer.

Try talking directly to wired country

http://www.wiredcountry.co.nz/contact.html

From what I've seen the aerial isn't too big, but it is mounted on a stand, which can be kinda big-ish

Btw, you may be too close the skytower to get the service if you're in newton, but talk to WC anyway, they should be able to tell you

The wiredcountry antennas are

350mm X 350mm and are usually places on an angle so they look like a dimond from the front.
From the face to the mount they are 300mm

As for the body corporate allowing them, I think you may have3 big problems here as the last time i heard this being done the antenna was not allowed. If you have visability you may get away with mounting it inside the window however im not sure i would bee keen on this as they are not a standard radio and i think they push more power than normal WiFi gear. Dont quote me on this as im not compleatley sure.

Where exactly are you located and on what side of the city?

Andrew

The apartment is on Charlotte Street in Eden Terrace, and I have clear visibility to the Sky Tower
but the size of the dish is probably too large to convince the Apartment Body Coporate...

Default Connect without using the standard Antenna

My other question is.... is it possible to connect to wired country without using the standard 300x300mm antenna? may be something smaller considering my distance and visibility to SkyTower....
If that's possible, what side effects am I likely to encounter?

Thanks guys.

In a word ... no
The radio and amplifier are mounted inside the antenna.
