Default Henderson - NZWireless

Hi Peoples.

Wondering if anyone could help me out here. I'm trying to get wireless connectivity in Henderson - Harrington Road off Central Park Drive. I've been trying to wireless connectivity to one of the wireless ISP's and so far I've got zero luck. NZWireless.co.nz seems to have a POP in Glendene quite close but they just did a test as well and there is zero signal even though I'm just a few KM away. their SSID is nzwireless6.

I want to try get connected to them myself and want to know if anyone has second hand 2.4 Ghz 802.11b equipment that I can buy to try this myself. I already have a Cisco Aironet BR500E bridge. Is 24 db gain coupled with a 500 mw booster legal ?

p.s. already tried wired country with no luck.

they generally test with a 200mW Senao card (because it's close to the 200mW Senao bridges they provide, amongst other things) and a 19dBi parabolic. So if that couldnt see their AP at a distance of a couple of km, I'd say your brute force approach is going to be an illegal waste of time and money.

Look for a different approach - find someone in view of you who can see their AP and put a point to multipoint bridging repeater on their roof. It wont be supported by nzwireless.co.nz but if you're that dead keen...
