In auckland you've got both nzwireless.co.nz's GASP and wiredcountry to choose from... both are good crowds, nzw runs in public spectrum so you can use off the shelf gear (cheaper setup though you get what you pay for), and wiredcountry runs in its own spectrum so needs proprietary gear

This post is just moans. Moans about customer service and latency. Now correct me if I'm wrong but to get hissy about latency on a wireless network is a bit rich. It's still a developing technology as some have pointed out. I've also spoke with Woosh staff who have been helpful, knowledgeable and also apologetic about any latency issues (shock horror - yes they are aware of latency issues and are working to fix it - advice given to me was that it cannot deal with first person rpg's and that was before ). Bottom line - A good service. Improving all the time.

I disagree, Woosh is using old technology, generally nowadays, wireless has much better latency than an equivalent DSL based product.

And if people want to moan, let them. I know woosh are working on it, they still want to deliver VOIP services which they can't do until its sorted. But they'll get there I'm sure.

Personal I was in the same boat, I signed up to Woosh when it was Walker Wireless and have some 15 e-mails (and lots and lots of phone calls) to a variety of the staff there trying to fix a variety of problems including sucking an additional $800 from my bank account one month then another $300 the next. I found there service in the accounts team to be shocking, ability to respond to queries worse and ability to do what they promised appalling.

I finally got it sorted when I threatened taking them to court…. Have now moved on and cancel my account and am waiting something new… and faster…however hate using dial up in the mean time

Sounds like I must be one of the odd ones out but I have been using Woosh for about 6-7 months both at work and at home and am yet to have any problems with it. I use it most of each day and consistantly get about 32KB/s speed with it. Other then the few times it has been down for upgrades and such I am yet to have a problem with it.

And with a 10GB limit I have started sharing it on the wireless network at work (using a belkin wireless network access point) for two of my workmates and am yet to have any problems with this setup as well.
