I posted the other day re using a Tiny USB WiFi dongle stand-alone, you responded.
I wonder if you could offer a little more assistance?
I want to construct a very small, self powered 'WiFi beacon', something that merely broadcast for a very short time at say, 10 sec intervals, a unique identifier. The idea of using the Tiny USB dongle was that it existed in plentiful amounts, and is cheap.
Alternatively, Nordic Semiconductor have loaned me one of their nRF24LU1 (older stock) development kits along with five of their nRF24LU1 component devices - wow are those small! I need to find out whether it's possible to get just the WiFi componenet up and running, broadcasting a unique identifier, sleeping, then repeating.
