I want to share a high speed connection with my neighbor. His house is about 1000 feet MAX from mine. It is line of sight. Nothing blocking view. Will G work? Or should I use GPLUS? What about N?
I plan on using my laptop at my house and connecting to his router. I'm buying the router and I want to make sure I get the right thing in advance. Any help is appreciated!
Maybe nobody knows huh? How about this...
Can I put a wireless router at each end and make them talk to each other?
One at the modem end to send the signal to the remote computer and one at the remote computer location to amplify the transmit signal from the laptop?
Is this feasable?
The limits on Cat5 cable is 300 feet. You can purchase an outdoor wireless access point like the following that supports line-of-sight repeating. This way you can setup one at your house and send it to your buddy's house.
Something like this will work best. You can also make your own line-of-sight wirless setup with a Pringles Chip Can and some copper wiring... But you can look that up on the net.
