I have a home network with a linkys router that is used soley for a USB printer and a network storage Drive, but there is no internet connection on it... To access the internet I have to switch to my Dad's router which is located next door or the hotspot on my phone.. I've bought a usb wireless adapter and have successfully managed to get them to both connect, but when I attempt to access the internet through my browser (Chrome) it will not connect... I'm sure there is a setting or something I'm missing but would appreciate any help.
HP Windows 7 laptop w/built in wireless and netgear usb wireless adapter.
You could just use a single Wireless Adapter and just use the Windows Wireless Configuration to associate with whichever network you currently want to use. I am assuming both wireless networks have different SSIDs (Network Names) and passwords to go with them?
When you want to switch, just disconnect manually from one network and then manually connect to the other.
Another option is to either Bridge the two Wireless Routers or Access Points with a Wireless Bridge or connect the two routers with a wired Ethernet Connection. Make sure the two Routers have the same SSID and WPA/WEP settings.
